Ten Pieces of Art I Would Love to Own:
(Some of my choices are whimsy and appreciated for the mere originality. Basically, I have no idea what I would do with some of the prints. Where would I put them? I only have so many walls in my little place. Should art really be bought/obtained if it can’t be out on display and seen? Hmm, there’s a thought-provoking question for you. Anywho, click on artists’ names to access the sites where they can either be purchased and/or viewed.)
- “Storm” – Elsie Flannigan at Red Velvet Art (I absolutely adore her site and blog.)

- “Rollergirl” by Jessica Tremp (If I had a little girl – and NO, I’m not craving that yet – this would hang in her room, for suuure.)

- “On Martin Luther King Day” by Danny Gregory (I love the mixed typography of this piece. It would look amazing against a very bold colored wall – like lemon yellow or raspberry pink.)

- “The Original ABC Love” and “I Love You, Blogs and Coffee” by Jennifer Ramos (I’m obviously obsessed with fonts, lettering, and art combined. Check out her etsy shop, “made by girl.”)

- “Collage Floral Burst” by Box64 Studios. (I love, love, love the craftiness and composition. Can you believe it’s just layers of paper?)

- “Vespa” by WeKeepSaying. (Um, can I have one in every color, please?!)

- “Elephant” by Julia Riordan (Her work makes me want to have an African room with just her paintings hanging everywhere. Her etsy shop, “Where the Wild Things Art,” is a must-see.)

- “Swing, Swing” by Kurt Halsey (I have always, always wanted to own a Kurt Halsey print. I will one day!!)

- “Bild” by Jon Burgerman (sold at the wonderful store, IKEA. I actually almost bought a scratched version on clearance once. I don’t like scratches, though.)

- “Saturday Afternoon” by Bueller (This is TTV print, see previous post on this type of photography. I feel cozy, like I should be drinking bubble tea and reading a classic, when I look at this picture.)

The past week I have been able to prepare for the upcoming school year and get artsy/crafty with my bad self. My little dining room nook has been taken over with my paint, yarn and other supplies. I may have to post some pictures of all my labors. :) I consider this time a real treat – ask any teacher, late August to early June is off limits and personal time is nearly impossible to squeeze out of the busy schedule. So, I’ve been gratefully soaking up the non-school related literature I’ve read, the projects I’ve created, the walks I’ve taken with Tilly, the time spent with my goofy boy and crazy/loud family, and the time to dwell on His goodness. I am so, so, so thankful for where I am at in life right now. I’m at ease. A first for awhile. My list of blessings is too long but the mere fact that I can make a list…geesh. I’m humbled, God.
