Most mornings on my way to school I usually cut through the Meijer’s parking lot. The deserted lot cuts off a few stop lights on my route at 6:45 AM. On this particular morning, though, I saw something most unusual. An older man, white hair sticking out every which way under his bucket hat and bent over with age, was steering his cart, juggling his newly purchased item, and shuffling in his most likely custom-made orthopedic shoes. He seemed to be chatting with the Meijer’s employee who undoubtedly was sent to assist the man on lifting his hefty investment into his Cadillac boat they were approaching. What was this mystery item? None other than what looked to be a HUGE flat screen TV. I laughed out loud immediately because it just seemed too bizarre to see such an older man at 6:48 in the morning buying a new TV. More power to him. Wonder what he’ll watch…PGA tour and the Price is Right? – whoa, stereotyping like every other part of this post. Or So You Think You Can Dance? The Hills? Hmmm. I’ll never know but it sure did put a smile on my face on a Monday morning.

p.s. Did you know it’s more proper/politically correct to say older people then elderly? Just learned that one from a grad class. Guess I’m getting my money’s worth.
